Patrick Queen shares his thoughts on his first NFL season
The Baltimore Ravens selected linebacker Patrick Queen with the 28th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. His rookie year has been full of ups and downs, but he’s had an overall solid season.
When Queen was asked how he thought his first NFL season went, he brought up some things that he said went well and some that he thought he could have done a little better.
âI’m proud of myself. It’s hard to reach that level – let alone being in the conversation for Defensive Rookie of the Year. So I’m proud of myself, and I’m still hard on myself- Even. When I look back, pass the blanket, things are so easy that I get now, that last year I was messing things up over and over again. And it wasn’t always there. same thing; it was just different stuff. So once I learned something hit me, something new … Now that simplifies everything, and the experience calms down. So I I’m hearing it, I can’t wait for the season to start, so everyone can see all the work I’ve done to be better.
Queen struggled in some areas of her game, such as passing coverage and overall consistency, but showcased her touchline speed and endless drive. He was around football more often than not and made several splash games throughout the 2020 season.
As the young linebacker continues to gain more and more experience in the NFL, he should improve more and more as the game slows down for him. He’s a hard worker and strives to improve himself, and with that work ethic, Queen has the potential to be one of the best linebackers in the league in just a few seasons.
